Transportation from/to the Airport
Shuttle Express, the Downtown Airporter, and taxis are all readily available on the 3rd floor of the airport parking garage. One needs to cross skybridge 3 or 4 to the airport parking garage then go down to the 3rd floor for all ground transportation. More transportation options.
For services returning to Sea-Tac International Airport, 24-hour advance reservations are required.
- Shuttle Express: Door-to-door shared van service. Online reservations are availiable. The cost is $19 + tips (one way) to either McMahon Hall at University of Washington or University Inn. Advanced reservation is recommended.
- Taxi: Taxi fare from the airport to UW is about $50–$60 and takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. If you are staying in a hotel, you can ask the front desk to make the reservation for you.
-
Metro Transit: Take Seattle's Link Light Rail service directly from Sea-Tac Airport to the Westlake Station in downtown Seattle ($2.75 fare and roughly a 30-minute trip.)
From the Westlake station downtown, you can get on Seattle Metro Transit bus routes 71, 72 or 73 to the University District (these links show the Sunday bus schedules, so change to your travel day as appropriate). The bus fare is currently $2.25 ($2.50 at peak times) and drivers do not carry change. The whole trip will probably take about an hour.
Please note that the bus schedule varies on Saturday, Sunday, and weekdays. Be sure to check the schedule on the correct day of your travel.
Seattle bus service allows you to get one free transfer pass for a second bus ride within few hours. Be sure to ask for one when you pay the bus fare.
