There are two methods of obtaining this reconstructed image, convolution and backprojection, and an iterative method. The convolution and backprojection method works better in our situation. In this method, each vertical slice is processed independently. The information from each angle is first filtered with an edge-detection filter (convolution), and this data is then projected backwards into a new image (backprojection). The need for these two steps lies in the mathematics of reconstruction and Fourier techniques. I won’t get into the mathematics in this short talk.
