Bad detectors will cause vertical lines in the sinogram, which become concentric circles around the center of the reconstruction. The simple answer to this is to just smooth out each row of the sinogram a little bit. Although this will cause a slight loss of crispness in the reconstruction, this loss is outweighed by the removal of the far more apparent rings.
