After reconstructing the data, we needed ways to view it three-dimensionally. The two main ways are slice-by-slice movies and virtual reality (VRML). The technique of tomography and these viewing techniques have made some new discoveries about bone possible, that the Haversian network in some kinds of plexiform bone is arranged in web-like layers connected by perpendicular canals.
