A Joint Caltech/INT Sponsored Workshop on
NUCLEAR PHYSICS WITH
EFFECTIVE FIELD THEORY

Location: W. K. Kellogg Radiation Laboratory
at the California Institute of Technology
Date: February 26 (Thursday) and 27 (Friday)
1998
The workshop will focus on issues and problems
currently impacting the effective field theory description of nuclear forces.
In particular we hope to resolve disagreements concerning the handling
of divergences that appear in NN scattering and in turn agree upon a consistent
power counting scheme. Several papers have addressed this problem in the
last few months, but the situation remains confused. Arriving at a consistent
power scheme is crucial to the development of techniques for many-nucleon
systems and inelastic processes. The number of participants will be limited
to facilitate intense discussion. For further information email one of
the organizers.
