Q: What are your physics/science interests?
I am generally interested in AMO and condensed matter topics, especially optics
and solid state physics and their applications for quantum information science.
Q: What are your other interests?
I play piano passably and a number of other instruments poorly, and generally enjoy music quite a bit.
I am also interested in movies, and occasionally volunteer at UChicago's student film society. I have
dabbled briefly in a cappella and running.
Q: What would you like to do after college?
I would either like to pursue a graduate degree in physics or electrical engineering, or go to work in the software industry.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself.
I am somewhat allergic to raw carrots.
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
I had several excellent physics teachers in high school, so when I got to college I started taking physics classes
and ended up deciding to stick
with the major. I have always enjoyed math and science, and for me physics strikes a nice balance between the
abstract and the tangible.
Q: If you could have any pet what would it be?
A sassy kangaroo.
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend
your time?
I would travel, probably to the Caribbean, the Himalayas, and Australia.
Q: If you could get a grant to study anything what would it be?
I would probably want to study semiconductor device fabrication.
