Q: What are your physics/science interests?
Nuclear physics and particle physics are my main interests, but I would love to learn more about all of the subfields of physics.

Q: What are your other interests?
I devote a lot of my time to STEM field (science, technology, math, and engineering) K-12 outreach because I enjoy getting kids excited about science. I also love reading, running, cross country skiing, camping, and traveling.

Q: What would you like to do after college?
I would like to pursue a PhD in either physics or nuclear engineering. But maybe I'll apply to the Peace Corps or Engineers Without Borders first!

Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself.
I ate a deep fried king scorpion one time in Beijing and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
I've always loved math and science, but I knew that I needed to study physics when I took an independent study class in high school called "Science and the Quest for Origins." For our final project, we had to research any "origins" topic we wanted to. I decided to research the Big Bang, and I ended up trying to understand what the universe was made of. It mostly went over my head, but I tried to learn about dark matter and dark energy, and I never wanted to stop learning about it.

Q: If you could have any pet what would it be?
I love dogs so I would probably stick with that. But maybe I would want a bear if I was sure I wasn't going to be eaten.

Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
I would travel to some of the places on my bucket list, or maybe choose one place and spend the month there. I want to go to Antarctica, Thailand, Rwanda, Tanzania, Cambodia, Peru, Greece, Egypt, and so many other places!

Q: If you could get a grant to study anything what would it be?
Something to do with nuclear physics, but I'm not sure exactly what right now. I'm trying to figure it out!
