Conclusion

The recent measurements from KTeV will test our understanding of hyperon decays, and bring us closer to an unambiguous determination of $\langle\overline{s}\gamma_\mu\gamma_5 s\rangle$. SU(3) breaking provides the largest uncertainty in determining the strange quark matrix elements of the nucleon. To unravel this, precise measurements of the basic properties of the low-lying baryons are needed.

The electro-production of strange hadrons is poorly understood at present. Significant work is required to make the theoretical framework rigorous. Such work must occur in order to make full use of the high precision data that will soon be available.

Continued funding for projects to investigate strangeness in the nucleon is crucial for making a connection between the quark/gluon degrees of freedom of QCD and the meson/baryon language.
