Institute for Nuclear Theory Workshop
Seattle, WA, October 8-12, 2012

Part of the Institute for Nuclear Theory Program
Light Nuclei from First Principles

We have seen the emergence of new and improved
theories and computational methods leading to
remarkable progress in our understanding of the
nuclear force and our ability to describe nuclei
from first principles. In this pursuit, the study of
light nuclei provides an important challenge and
testing ground.

This workshop explores nuclear structure, nuclear
forces, and ab initio methods. How do first principles
calculations compare with precision experiments?
What can we say about underlying structures? What
are the remaining challenges and how do we go
forward?
